The Weekend

This weekend including Friday was a tad crazy. I got to meet my dear friend Linda for lunch. She picked Lubys. Normally when I go to Lubys I order the chicken fried chicken, salad, corn, mashed potatoes, a roll and sweet tea. Not anymore.

This time I was planning on ordering the baked chicken but something else caught my eye, blackened tilapia. For those of you that know me, this is a big deal. I used to tell people that I didn’t eat anything that came out of water. I have been testing the waters (pun intended) and while I still very much prefer chicken, turkey, pork and beef this is another healthier option.

I skipped the roll, got balsamic instead of ranch, chose green beans and cabbage over corn and mashed potatoes and drank water instead of sweet tea.


On Friday evening I met Sheri, the bestest, most wonderful interior designer I know, for a little shopping in preparation for revamping the guest room… more to come about this venture.  I ate when I got home which was a little late and while better than stopping for fast food I could have made some better choices.  I did meet my water goal for the day!!

Saturday wasn’t a great day foodwise. I had a bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats with 2% Milk so that was terrible but I didn’t eat again until 5pm. After work we had a kickball tourney which was over for us at about 4:45. I was kid sitting (they aren’t babies) and they chose Sonic. I was really bad at Sonic. I had a Chicken Strip Dinner and Mozzarella Sticks ( I can eat). I did drink water but I did not reach my water goal on Saturday.

I came home Sunday morning from kid sitting and stopped at Wal-Mart to get stuff to make Ryan and I breakfast. I had coffee, egg whites, canadian bacon, 100 calorie english muffin with jelly (low fat), and a slice of cheese. All in all it was about 400 calories.

Ryan and I went to Home Depot and back to Wal-Mart to do a little grocery shopping. When we got home I started working on the guest bedroom and before I knew it, it was 6:30 pm. I had a Green Goddess smoothie for about 280 calories and that was all that I had all day. I know this is bad and believe me, will not be the norm. While painting the guest room I wore my heart rate monitor. After I started it something happened and my totals were lost so I started it again.

I have been up since 4 am and tossed and turned all night. I am sore and tired but have a great week ahead of me. I meet with a personal trainer tonight for my first session. Wish me luck…
